Climate Risk Assessment Worked Examples
Each guide on this page is a climate risk assessment produced by the Continuuiti platform and published in full: 12 hazards, two emission scenarios, four time horizons, flood depths by return period, and a financial layer of expected annual damage and flood value-at-risk. The companies are fictional. The analysis is real.
The worked examples below show finished assessments, not theory. If you are new to the topic and want to know what a physical climate risk assessment is, start with the concept guide. If you want the step-by-step method for facility assets, the 7-step assessment methodology covers it in depth. If you already have a report in hand, see how to interpret a climate risk assessment report. These pages do a different job: they show what the finished product looks like for your use case.
Every number comes from six platform calls
Each worked example is produced by running the Continuuiti platform end to end on the example portfolio. The same calls, on any portfolio:
POST /api/v1/geocode/batch/
POST /api/v1/climate-risk/batch/analyze/
POST /api/v1/flood-depth/analyze/
GET /api/v1/hazard-history/floods/query/
POST /api/v1/damage/batch/estimate/
GET /api/v1/exports/{module}/reports/{id}/
The request and response shapes for every call are in the API documentation.
Choose your use case
The platform run is the same for everyone. What changes is which assets matter and which losses count, so each worked example reads the same data through a different business.
Manufacturing
A manufacturer’s owned plants: 10 sites screened across 12 hazards, with flood value-at-risk and expected annual damage worked in full.
Property resilience
A single owned property screened for climate and nature risk: 12 hazards, land-cover change, and protected-area proximity, with the flood result reported as not-modeled-at-the-asset.
Supply chain
Your suppliers rather than your plants: hazard exposure across an upstream network.
Real estate
A property portfolio, asset by asset, with damage estimates per building.
Insurance underwriting
Location-level hazard screening at policy scale.
What is real in these examples
Each worked example is a real platform run on real coordinates. We label what is measured and what is invented, on every page:
Real platform outputs
- Site locations and their hazard ratings
- Scenario projections and time horizons
- Flood depths by return period
- Water stress and climate indicators
- Recorded flood and landslide history
Illustrative
- The company and its name
- Asset values and currency conversions
- Materiality weights
Dollar figures combine the two: a real damage method applied to illustrative asset values.
Doing this for disclosure?
The worked examples show the analysis layer. If you report under a climate disclosure framework, the disclosure examples library shows what finished disclosure text looks like, paragraph by paragraph, for IFRS S2, AASB S2 and California SB 261.
Run this yourself
There are two ways in. Create an account on the Continuuiti platform and run reports from the dashboard, or call the same APIs directly with your account’s key. The API documentation covers authentication, a free sandbox mode, and every endpoint used above.
Frequently asked questions
Is the data in these examples real?
Yes, with labelled exceptions. The hazard ratings, scenario projections, flood depths and event history are real platform outputs for real locations. The companies, asset values and materiality weights are illustrative, and each page labels which is which.
Can I reproduce a worked example through the API?
Yes. Every number on these pages comes from documented API calls, and the call for each step is shown above. With a registered account and an API key you can run the same chain on your own locations. The API documentation includes a free sandbox mode for testing.
How are these different from the 7-step methodology guide?
The methodology guide explains how to do each step and why it works. The worked examples show the finished result of that workflow on a specific portfolio. Read the method there; see the output here.
Do I need all six platform calls?
No. Each API works on its own, so you can run geocoding or hazard screening by itself. The worked examples use the full chain because they show a complete climate risk assessment.
